At Clinica Jóia, our microneedling treatment is administered using the innovative Dermapen® which is an automated microneedling medical device with a disposable tip cartridge and made up of 12 micro-needles.
The stamping action of the Dermapen’s vertical tip creates invisible micro-injuries to the skin, while stimulating the skin’s natural ability to heal itself and increase the production of new collagen. In doing so, these micro-injuries encourage and harness the body’s innate ability to regrow and repair the skin, promoting a more radiant glow and an improvement in the skin’s youthful elasticity.

3.After the treatment
Thanks to the innovative Dermapen® technology, very little downtime is required after this procedure. Frequently Asked Questions
Since Clinica Jóia uses the Dermapen® technology, patients experience significantly less discomfort and redness rendering the side effects very minimal. However, skin inflammation or redness may be experienced post-treatment. In this case, a cooling mask and/or an antioxidant serum may be used to sooth any discomfort and promotes healing.
Microneedling is great for the treatment of scars, wrinkles, or hyperpigmentation. However, this should be avoided by anyone who suffers from diabetes, clotting or bleeding disorders, eczema, a weakened immune system or is currently taking blood thinning medication.
Microneedling is a great treatment to start getting in your 20’s and 30’s when the resulting production of collagen is more significant.
Follow-Up Procedures
The need for microneedling follow-up treatments varies from one individual to another. This is usually discussed during the consultation phase and tailored to your own personal needs.
