Brow Lift

This is why here, at Clinica Jóia, we offer a range of treatments and procedures that are designed to delay the ageing process and help you retain your youthful good looks for longer. The brow is particularly prone to deep lines and unbecoming wrinkles, which is why this facial area has earned a specialised treatment for itself.

A brow lift, rejuvenates the brow area by repositioning the brows to a higher position. This will help achieve a fresh, alert look compared to a tired, droopy one.

Due to the nature of the procedure, a consultation is required for personalised quotes

What It Entails

During a brow lift, our plastic surgeon will work to treat any visible signs of ageing surrounding the brow. The procedure typically requires an endoscopic incision or a coronal incision.

For an endoscopic incision, an endoscope – which refers to a thin tube with an attached camera – and special instruments are inserted through the small incisions made along the hairline. Using these tools, our surgeon is able to adjust the tissues and muscles under the skin and correct the source of visible forehead wrinkles and furrows.

How It Works

1.During the consultation

If you are interested in getting a brow lift, you should start by booking a consultation with our plastic surgeon. During the consultation, you will be able to express what you hope to gain from this surgery and, after reviewing your medical history, our doctor will be able to determine whether you are eligible to undergo this type of procedure. If you are a viable candidate, our doctor will outline the best course of treatment to ensure that you achieve optimal results.

Prior to the surgery, you may be asked to get a medical evaluation, take certain medications or adjust your current medications, refrain from smoking and avoid ingesting drugs that may increase bleeding.

2.During the procedure

During the surgical procedure, a general anaesthetic is administered to ensure your comfort throughout. Once the anaesthesia has taken effect, our plastic surgeon will proceed using an endoscopic incision or a coronal incision, both of which use different methods to alter the tissue and muscles under the skin, and treat the source of visible forehead lines and furrows.

Once the brow has been lifted accordingly, the incisions are then reclosed using sutures, skin adhesives, tapes or clips. Overall, the procedure takes approximately 1 to 2hrs to complete.

3.After the treatment

Post-surgery, your forehead may be taped and/or your head may be loosely wrapped to minimise swelling and bruising. Additionally, small tubes may be used to draw out any excess blood or fluid. Whilst recovering from surgery, applying ice or heat on the operated area is not prescribed, and it is advised that you keep your head elevated and refrain from engaging in vigorous physical activity for as long as your surgeon recommends.

As the swelling and bruising start to subside, you will notice smoother forehead skin and a more youthful and well-rested appearance. As a result, you will regain your youthful glow and boost your confidence in one fell swoop.

Follow-Up Procedures

As you recover from surgery, follow-up appointments will be scheduled to monitor your healing. Initial wound healing may take between 10 to 14 days, at which point the sutures or clips will be removed and you may return to work and other normal activities.

Despite looking well enough to go out,  healing will continue for several weeks as the swelling slowly goes down and the incision lines fade. Therefore, throughout this time of recovery, it is always important to regularly attend your scheduled follow-ups.
